Liya AI — Employee Wellbeing App

Liya AI is an employee wellbeing platform with an AI coach that listens by text and voice. I built the Flutter mobile app employees use: Liya Coach chat, voice conversations, wellbeing surveys and therapist access.

My role
Flutter developer — I built the employee mobile app. The HR web dashboard and analytics were outside my scope.

The challenge

Companies often find out about stress and burnout too late. Periodic surveys miss what is happening day to day, and employees hesitate to speak up when support doesn't feel private or easy to reach.

Liya needed a mobile app people would actually open when they are struggling, not just when HR sends a reminder.

What I built

I built the employee-facing Flutter app. At its centre is Liya Coach, a conversational AI that employees can talk to about stress, worries and how work is going, with replies that stay aware of the conversation so far.

For moments when typing feels like too much, I added voice conversations powered by ElevenLabs, so employees can speak to Liya and hear a natural reply. The app also delivers the organisation's mood and stress surveys, and connects employees with human therapists when they need more than an AI coach.

The app runs on Supabase, with Node.js services behind it and OpenAI powering the coach.

Key features I delivered

  • Liya Coach: conversational AI chat with context-aware replies
  • Natural voice conversations powered by ElevenLabs
  • Mood and stress surveys inside the app
  • Access to human therapists from the app

Outcome

Offering both text and voice made it easier for employees to open up and lifted participation, and survey answers from the app feed the HR dashboard, where trends are summarised automatically.
